KEY Route

The key route is a SaaS platform dedicated to roundtrip planning for the transport industry, which has been designed to offer unprecedented flexibility

  • Define the "dimensions" of the load you are transporting, which could be passengers, pallets, cubic meters, tons, animals...
  • Define your specifics taking into account hard constraints: unpacking time and hard restrictions (driving licenses/energy use/vehicle type/delivery point)
  • Set the cursor where you need it best to comprehend your business priorities
  • Go deeper into your filling rate optimisation: load conversion, load fragmentation, and calculated dimensions (support units)
  • Include in your planning your vehicle's gas fill-up with the best optimisation in between the extra mileage to reach the gas station and the opportunity for a cheaper price. If you are running multi-day trips, the system will potentially plan several stops

Several Steps Further

The platform offers the possibility to plan roundtrips for a single planning day from a single warehouse. We are proud to offer the following possibilities:

  • Plan roundtrips over a range of days, let's say a week, for a single "Key point" (i.e. warehouse))
  • Plan roundtrips for a single planning day, over several "Key points" (i.e. warehouses)
  • Plan single day roundtrips over a range of days, let's say a week, for several "Key points" (i.e. warehouse)

The flexibility offered by the configuration, the notion of contexts, and the mapping allows multiple angle analysis of the problems.

The Optimisation Model

You can set the cursor where you need it best to apprehend your business priorities: the model will work to minimise running costs, conversion costs, and penalties that are extremely flexible and cover the following topics:

  • Driving time:
    • Extra driving time will induce a penalty (defined in Ccy / extra hour)
  • Overload:
    • For each load, time dimensions have defined that if a lorry is overloaded given the defined capacity for that dimension (computed or raw dimension) a penalty will be added
  • Passage time:
    • Transit management flexibility by defining critical delivery time slots for each day while increasing the scope of delivery possibilities. A late penalty can be applied if necessary
  • Delivery date:
    • Organise your deliveries whenever you would like, over a single day or multi-days while keeping track of legal driver's restrictions (driving, working, resting, and waiting times). A late penalty can be applied if necessary
  • Distant point:
    • Identify costly remote points to switch/transfer customers to the most relevant routes on the most relevant days while reducing the cost

  • Number of stops:
    • You can set a minimum and/or a maximum number of stops per round trip depending on your management priorities:
      • Reduce the driving time
      • Reduce the driving distance
      • Balance off the number of customers per truck
    • A penalty can be added for each extra stop or under minimum depending on your parameters
  • Filing rate:
    • Personalise your vehicles' capacities: weight, volume, support unit, and more. A penalty can be added if the minimum filling rate is not met
  • Departure time flexibility:
    • We can force a departure at a fixed time or allow departures according to the delivery schedule to match customers' opening hours
  • Driver geography:
    • Prioritise assignments to the drivers who are used to delivering clients to increase the services' quality and performance
    • A penalty is added for each stop that is not assigned to the driver
  • Truck geography:
    • Manage your geographical sectors by assigning vehicles to specific areas. Only stops within the sector can be assigned to the vehicle
